7th annual ‘Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend Gala Dinner’

"Challenge" supporting kids with cancer - was the reason for the girls of Rand Corporation heading out last Thursday evening, along with 1200 other women, to a formal event at Crown Casino Palladium Room for the 7th "Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend" Gala. The Diamonds night is an important fund raising event for Women for Challenge who provide a program that offers a range of services for mothers of children living with cancer including bereaved mothers. Rand Corporations, Danielle Martin is the only female auctioneer in the City of Port Phillip and one of only a handful in the state and has a special connection with WFC so was thrilled for the opportunity to offer her expertise and conducted the evenings live auction segment. Danielle auctioned a selection of once in a life time events including a dinner date for six with Daryl Braithwaite at the Flower Drum for almost $5000 and tickets to A Day On the Green with Lionel Ritchie for over $3000. The Diamonds Gala is an extraordinary event attended by many extraordinary women, Jennifer Hanson (and her husband, actor Alan Fletcher), MC'd and PH Diamonds again raffled an exquisite 18 carat white-gold diamond pendant won by a lucky attendee. Other major sponsors also included ‘Bed Bath N’ Table’, ‘Yellowglen’, ‘Matrix’ Styling Products, ‘Mix101.1’, ‘Kleins’ and ‘No Reservations’. The dance floor and the Bubbly Bar were full nearly all night as the 1200 strong crowd partied.
